The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently going to the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services into the community.

SASSA will be rendering solutions for instance new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency mentioned it is actually alarmed about the significant quantity of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The aim on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the substantial quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office dedicated to service the area each day. The assistance issue created for intervention encounters a large influx of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it challenging for your office to attend to all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise sassa status a lot more assets to help the servicing of all clients and enhance use of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
